Welcome
With the launch in 2010, and the 2011 Share Issue, our membership has risen to 502 residents and local businesses within Totnes and its 15 surrounding parishes.
We are excited to welcome 117 new members, and for 63 existing members to take the opportunity to increase their shareholding.
Doing business at a local community level brings with it transparency. This requires an alignment of values and goals because we look each other in the eye every day. This is powerful stuff, as the co-operative movement has known for decades. Being acutely aware of the faith and trust placed in us by the local community focuses us on delivering a healthy annual return on our members’ investments in renewable energy.

As a TRESOC Member you:
- have an equal vote in how the Society is managed and your local energy resources are utilized and conserved, irrespective of the number of shares you hold
- ensure that the local community participates in the ownership and management of local renewable energy resources.
- are eligible for a variable interest payment, based on the performance of TRESOC
- protect yourself against extreme fluctuations in international energy markets by supporting a local energy supply
- significantly enhance the contribution of Totnes and Environs in dealing with global climate change
- contribute to the provision of renewable energy supplies for Totnes and Environs that, in turn, will build long-term prosperity and economic security
